What started as mutual appreciation became a standing arrangement — her pick, his pick, their shared curiosity. A decade ago nobody was doing this. They did it anyway.
Through every phase — hers, his, the channel's — she kept checking on him. Quietly. Consistently. The way only people who've known each other a long time know how. He's never forgotten that. Nobody who knows them has.
There was a gap. Life does that. She checked in anyway. More than once. Making sure things were okay without ever making it a big thing — because with Wardfire, it never is. It's just the way she shows up.
